Why Pavers

Maybe cheaper than you think
  • Van Dieman Paving utilise surplus mine tailings, from the Rossarden Tin Mines to make an extremely heavy duty paver, made up of approx 85% quartz, black granite and other hard metals.

  • We are recycling waste from the Rossarden Tin Mines helping the environment.
  • At Bell Bay Wharf our pavers been down since the early 1990's and are still in use today, with 100 tonne forklifts and trucks driven on extensively daily.

  • The top 10% - 15% of the paver has the colour mixed through
(as illustrated), which means if chipped or scratched is hardly visible.

  • Pavers can be lifted up for inspection, or repair of electrical and plumbing etc, without noticeable signs of a repair.

  • Pavers can be moved, re-located and reused.

  • Price per square metre for paving (include laying cost) average 60% of the cost of industrial strength concrete.

  • Pavers can be driven on immediately after laying.

  • Good for unstable and sloping ground.

  • Interlocking pavers are ideal for steep driveways.

  • Very low slippage, so pavers are ideal for wet areas like around swimming pools etc.

  • Scientifically tested for a high average 55MPA rating (strength), where most concrete has a MPA rating of about 25MPA.

  • If concrete cracks: the crack remains
Concrete looks different when patched or a section is replaced

  • Concrete usually costs more

  • If Asphalt cracks it sinks and causes pot holes
Asphalt goes soft in the heat and sun
    Asphalt looks different when patched
Asphalt can be damaged from fuel spillage
Asphalt has a shorter life expectancy

  • Pavers can be lifted for repairs to sunken bases. Oil or paint stained areas can easily be replaced
at minimal cost, as only the damaged areas need to be rectified.
